WADA第2代会長John Fahey氏の逝去によせて：Condolences to the former WADA President John Fahey

2008年から2013年の6年間に渡り、世界アンチ・ドーピング機構（WADA）の第2代会長として、国際的なアンチ・ドーピング活動を力強く統率されたJohn Fahey氏が逝去されました。

同氏は、国際製薬団体連合や、国際刑事警察機構をはじめとする行政機関などのとの連携を積極的に推進し、現在の国際的なアンチ・ドーピング活動の基盤を構築されました。

2012年2月に開催された当機構設立10周年式典のため来日を頂いた際には、国内のアンチ・ドーピング関係者に対してご挨拶を頂戴し、また活動強化に向けた意見交換を行ったことは、当機構のその後の成長の糧となっています。
東京2020大会の開催を来年に控えるホスト国のアンチ・ドーピング機関として、John Fahey元会長の遺志を受け継ぎ、我が国、及び国際的なアンチ・ドーピング活動の更なる強化に努めて参ります。

We would like to express our sadness and heartfelt condolences on the news of the passing of Mr. John Fahey, former WADA President.

Mr. Fahey actively promoted for example the collaboration between the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Association (IFPMA), the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) and public authorities, and he built a foundation for the current international clean sport movement.

At the JADA 10th Anniversary Ceremony held in February 2012, Mr. Fahey emphasized the further necessity of collaborations of all parties. Inspired by his commitment and future vision, exchanging ideas for the enhancement of anti-doping activities is a source of JADA's subsequent development.

By continuing his longstanding effort, as the Tokyo2020 Games' host country's national anti-doping organization, we will further strengthen anti-doping activities in Japan and collaborate with stakeholders.
